Accepting Mistakes and Not Giving Up

Mistakes have become a dirty word. Inappropriately so! Mistakes are part of the machine of learning. Rare you will find in history immediate and complete perfection on the first try. If you do, please share it with me. 😉 Brilliant mistakes have given this world some amazing gifts. Like penicillin, the pacemaker and the beloved post-it notes. Mistakes don’t have to be considered “bad”.

When I try something new I like to think of it as an experiment to see if what I’m attempting to do is suitable for me and my lifestyle. It’s our human privilege to try whatever we want! It’s also our privilege to decide to stop doing anything that doesn’t work, as long as we gave it our best shot.

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

Neil Gaiman

Yes, mistakes will be made and we’re bound to meet failure at some point. The key to any success story is to try!

Don’t abandon something new because there is awkwardness. It’s part of the package, usually accompanied by struggle, discomfort, exhaustion and embarrassment. Through my trials, I’ve found that consistency and repetition eventually yields improvement. So it helps if our mindset is one of absolute determination.

Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.

Brian Tracy

If you see yourself being capable of more, commit to doing a little more everyday. What we think about ourselves becomes our reality. Hold firmly to what you believe is possible and stick with it. Favorable results come from unshakable effort and attitude ❤

Keep it Simple,

    1. Thanks so much Dr Maini. 😃

I’ve blogged before of the importance of making our”so-called” mistakes but I hear and see way TOO often people giving up TOO soon. It’s a key element for our growth❣️

Yernasia is right, it’s a word that’s good to eliminate ❣️😉

  1. 💜 Eliminate The Word “Mistake” EveryOne; because “Learning” is a “Perfect” Positive Process while “Mistake” is Riddled with Negativity and has Us Feeling Bad about OurSelves when We ARE Accused of Making “Mistakes”…an Error is where there ARE Clear Step-By-Step Instructions and We Omit or Add Steps and the Outcomes ARE NOT!!! what was Expected; where there ARE No Measurable Metrics a “Learning” Experience may very well Consequence in Innovation, Invention and Creation
