I will not play tug o’ war.
I’d rather play hug o’ war.
Where everyone hugs instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins,
and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins. ~ Shel Silverstein
Hugs feel good. Oh, so very good! No matter our age, we all enjoy a good, genuine hug that says, “Way to go”, “I love you”, “I’m so happy”, “You mean so much to me”, “I’ve missed you”, “I’m so proud of the person you are”. Hugs are even more powerful when the they’re gifted when we’re sad, or scared or in pain.
The beauty is hugs are free, and they’re in endless supply, they’re readily available at a moment’s notice, they require no excessive physical exertion, and usually, they’re reciprocated. What a deal!
Hugs are good for our mental, physical and emotional health and they benefit us from our childhood years throughout our adult life.
If you see someone who needs a hug, give a hug. If you need a hug, ask for a hug. It’s a beautiful thing that most people are willing to share!
Keep it Simple,
Just Teri
